Getting my new rifle in 280 AI, hoping it will become my new "go to" rifle. I need some ideas on what people are using. Please post your favorite load, and it's intended use. Any and all data posted will help me, no matter it's use, as I will likely be using this rifle for a wide range of purposes (from varmints to Elk).
Thanks, Jay

Try some H4350 with the Nosler 120 grain Ballistic Tip. Its bad mojo on deer and is super accurate. Also, check this site out: http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

Start lower than these loads and work up
160 gr Accubond, 60.5 gr RL22, Fed215 primers 160 gr Accubond, 62.0 gr RL25, Fed215 primers
Watch out for the do-nuts, my 280AI develops them early.

58grs. IMR 4831 CCI 250 LRM primer 140 gr Barnes TSX got just about 1/2" group at 100 yards velocity average 3125 fps. 56grs IMR 4831 CCI 250 LRM primer 140 gr Barnes TSX got just over 1/4" group at 100 yards average velocity just unger 3K fps. All seated .040 off lands using Nosler brass. None of my Accubond loads were worth a darn.

Winchester 270 brass necked to 30 and back down to headspce in the chamber. 63.5 grains Vihtavouri N165 Nosler 140 BT or AB seated -.010" off the lands. 3200+ out of a 24 3/4" Krieger. Very accurate, and looooong brass life.

I have used VV N165, 210M primers behind a 140 Accubond in nosler brass,on a tip from Tim and wasn't dissapointed, fast and very accurate,my 280AI shot this load better than any other combination I tried, but I never made it to 63.5 grs in Nosler brass I ended up around 62.0 grs,so start low and work up,he has given some good advice!!
