Normaly I use IMR4064 and a A-max in F/TR,but the last lot of bullets is a"Oh My" and I only have 200 of them. So I'll burn off some Varget and Sierras I have practicing. This combination is a pretty standard, even the charge weight. Which comes to the question, what is it?

I use 45.5grs. Varget can vary a bit from lot to lot. That charge gives me 2950fps in two different barrels, a Krieger 26" 1-11" and a Bartlein 1-11" 5R also 26"...

Luck....is the residue of design...

Last two lots of Varget have me running 47.0 grains of Varget with either 155 Scenar or 155.5 Bergers, loaded to 2.92" OAL for Scenars and a bet longer for Bergers ( cant recall)

They are both right around 3050 fps, with Lapua Lr Primer Brass and CCI BR Primers

I did a bunch of searching the various forums for loads with Varget and 155s, and most of the loads were 45-47grs, which falls right in line with what these guys have posted.

Will be loading some 155 AMAXs this week, guess ill have to try some Varget as well as my favorite, RE15. What primer might work best with these 2 powders, have them all from CCIBRs to WLRs?
