I am not a person that has tons of spare money to spend on components, so i dont get to shoot as much as i would like, however, yesterday i shot more in one day than i normally would in a year. This was just awesome. We went over to South East Oregon for a day of shooting in the sun. Seafire and I went that is... I brought along my new Remington 700 VSC in .223 Rem. to get it bloody. Upon arrival, lots of things became apparent to me. We would not be alone, we would be shooting more than i am used to, and this was going to be more fun than sex with a cactus.... We had a visitor watching over us most of the morning... A shot of the field i was working over... Home on the range... Bloody rifle!!! Goofy dude behind the trigger... A 35 grain Hornady NTX at 3800 FPS... A 52 grain Speer Varmint HP at 3310 FPS... [img]http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo359/ironeagle_84/IMG_1068.jpg[/img] A 60 grain Hornady V-Max at 3020 FPS... [img]http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo359/ironeagle_84/IMG_1075.jpg[/img] A 50 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip at 3530 FPS... [img]http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo359/ironeagle_84/IMG_1074.jpg[/img] I even managed to bag one with a Heritage Arms single action revolver in .22LR... he was about 60 yards away. OP ironeagle_84 Campfire Outfitter Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 10,443 grants pass, oregon	i fired about 160 rounds. i dont know the exact amount right now, but i hit about 75% of the time. i tried several long shots with no spotter to help me, so some of the shots were "wasted" when i couldnt see where the bullet hit in the grass. i took 26 pictures of bodies, and i left several out there that were just dead, without any extraordinary damage. i would say a minimum of 125 squirrels met their maker yesterday. 30-06 till i die, the greatest round ever!
