I read that story and thought thwe same.
Four exits with a 38 makes me wonder if the ammo was plain old round nose stuff. Maybe even some hollow points would be a good call.

A ruger .22 pistol with 10 shots and could have put them all where they belong. Bigger is not necessarily better.

Five shots in the head and neck? Under that kind of stress? I'd say she did quite well. Doubt if half the members here could do as well.

..range time...she hit the guy over 50%, sounds like 3 or 4 out of 6.... And she probably put those 6 rounds downrange in 2-3 seconds as the guy never even had a chance to run...at least very far...
She did an outstanding job as far as I'm concerned...Bob

"He opens the closet door and finds himself staring down the barrel of a .38 revolver, Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The woman fired six bullets, five of which hit Paul Ali Slater in the face and neck area, Chapman said. But Slater, who has arrests dating to 2008 and was released from jail in August, was still conscious.

A good load even in a shubbie but better in a 4". A 4" barrel is better because if he's still not dead after 6 shots you have a better grip to beat him with the butt.

I'd wager that when Momma's nerves settle down, she will probably be spending some time at the range.
Likely upgrading her ammo and/or weapon too.

I think it's a safe bet that she isn't wishing she had a smaller caliber, or less ammo in the gun.

my thoughts exactly. I bet the number of folks attempting to thwart a perp saying "gee I wish I had more than a 22" outnumber those that say "gee, these 45 holes are just too big"

well, that or some range time. With pierced lungs, liver and stomach I think her shooting was just fine. Under serious duress, putting 5 shots on target, most of them center mass is pretty damn good! I'm a pretty fair shot with my service weapon, and if I ever get into a deadly force altercation, I hope I can put 5/6 of my shots into center mass. She did a damn fine job and her husband should be DAMN proud of her!
