The unqualified woman at work who was promoted to human resources was also promoted to production manager of part of the company. It seems both positions were above her ability. The previous HR hired experienced people from temp agencies to prevent new hire injuries. The unqualified HR woman hired from the local rescue mission in order to help fill up the area of her authority. One of the assemblers requested a different helper. The new guy literally could not add two plus two and get four. Almost none can read a tape measure.

Last payday a fellow went to the office to get his paycheck. They had no record of him being hired and yet he was punching the clock everyday. The time lady verified she was instructed to give him a punch card but no one else had any info on him. The unqualified HR woman was not even sending the new hires in for drug testing or physical. Both have been company practice for a long time.

Then this under qualified woman forgot to invoice one of the customers for a shipment. A few days later, since there was no record of the shipment, she ordered up more paperwork to start the production for the items already shipped. Some of the more experienced workers recognized the duplication and went to one of the more experience office workers who did some investigation. Not only did the under qualified production manager forget to invoice a shipment, when the customer called and told her there were seconds in the shipment she told him to keep them. The investigator discovered the customer was claiming the good stuff was seconds and selling them at their normal rate.

Most of you can guess she is no longer with the company.

By the way my last check was good but a couple of the guys' checks weren't. Another one quit today because of it. He said he could not handle the stress. I'm wondering if there could be a class action suit for all the stress these poor workers are going through. crazy

I worked for a couple years for a state agency here in Oregon. First month (May), no pay but was asssured I'd see a mid-month check in June. Nothing showed and I kept checking in only to be assured the issue would be rectified. Come the end of December and I went to see the head dog.

They checked the records and all of my submissions were in order. An hour or so later, they handed me a check for about $21K with absolutely no with holdings. I refused that one and told them to work out all of the specifics.

The wife was working and we were doing fine. I really wanted to let it run for another 10 months or so, but figured the taxes would get rather complicated. It's really fun to go in when one knows he has the administration by the short hairs.

Still, he probably ought to be looking for another job.

Obviously, the company is owned by an idiot now, and mis-managed. Companies that bounce payroll and have issues that run deep in upper management won't be there long.

Well, folks, I made a mistake. My last check did bounce. The bank lady told me today. I think the company will not last into February. A couple guys left about 11:00 AM today. One told me,
"I'm leavin'. I'm not getting paid to be here. We did our part. It's time for her to do her's and pay us."

I am enjoying grinding the knives for and playing with the rotary automatic wood turning lathe and making fixtures; and figure eventually I will get paid when the sheriff closes the place the the gov sells the machinery.

I was retired when I got the call to go to work. When this place goes down I will go back to being retired. There is a guy who wants me to help with his lathe. I told him I don't want another job but will try to train someone for him.

This skill I have is like a saddle and bridle maker at the beginning of the twentieth century. Almost no call for a "head builder" anymore.

Something new today.

On Christmas Eve one of the workers confronted the owner about his check bouncing. She fired him on the spot for insubordination. The place was closed until today. He's back. My wife called the office lady who told her the owner called him to come back because she couldn't afford to give him his final check!

Tomorrow I will go get my CD player that has half the Bible on it. That's what I listen to while I grind.

If I can get something to load to photobucket I will post the grinding and the fitting and the cutting of the cutter while it makes a handle.
