I have always been intrigued by 150 in a 300 and recently bought some Norma whitetail ammo. The only weight they offer in that lineup is 150 grain. They are just Spire point bullets which I understand may “blow up”. Has anyone hunted with 150’s before In 300 and what was your experience? I have swift scirocco 2’s 150 grain and I may have to load those so any suggestions on powder for 150 grain bullets would be appreciated. If the spire points can hold up to 3200 fps then I’ll just hunt with those. Thanks

I think it would have a lot to do with how fast the bullet is going at impact and what it hits... I tried 150s in a previous 300wm (they were the Remington Manged Recoil line that someone had gifted me) and the bullets tumbled at 100 yards. Never tried 150s again.
