Life around our household used to stop every summer when the Billy Graham Crusade would come on. We'd have the better part of a week sitting there, night after night, listening to him. I came from a long line of Methodist ministers-- Mom always reminded me of that. I can't say Mom or Dad or I agreed with everything he said on those crusades, but we certainly paid attention, and when we didn't agree, we would sit there and talk about it. Watching the Billy Graham Crusade was just how it was done in our family, and my grandparents were doing the same thing.

If you had to pick a person that was most responsible for shaping my faith, it would probably be a toss-up between Billy and Mom.
