Why? I’d bring a couple old Lefever doubles and my double hammer gun.

My best shooter is an old spray painted Wingmaster with a bent barrel.

Guy we duck hunt with has a Benelli Nova. Minimal metal finish anywhere on the shotgun. Never goes in a case. We asked him one time what maintenance he did on the shotgun ? He picked it up and pointed at the little oil hole in the side of the bolt body. "I put a couple drops of oil down in here two years ago..." Kills ducks regularly...

I think it's absurd to post an advertisement--which is all it is--like this on 24CF.
There are legitimate places to post shotgun shoots. There are HUNDREDS available on winscoreonline.com, including many within an hour or two of my house, and probably yours, and you can register there. To register you have to join NSSA or NSCA but the first year membership is free and you get their magazine free on line. Also check out the Amateur Trapshooting Association.

this isnt a organizational sanctioned shoot. and...I have permission by the owner and admins...who actally told me to put it in this forum because a shoot forum doesn't exist. this is an offer to shoot at my hay farm, which just happens to have a bonified range going to seed, built by the previous owner for his own enjoyment. its only open twice a year to my guests. I live in va. we actually give away more than we take in, and nothing is donated by advertisers or gun mfg'rs to promote their wares. so i can assure you, its not a profit venture....... like nssa, nsca, or ata..... all of which I use to be members of but have long retired from. its more like a neighborhood pool party. sorry if you don't like it. ive been offering this for 9 years now and it pulls in a some good people looking for fun, not requiring dues and memberships. everyone leaves my friend....not customers. and if it will make you feel better, in the 5 years I offered it on 24hr, no one has ever signed up to come. they mostly come from other places and the local hills and hollers. that may change soon. people are starting to realize how honest and generous I really try to be. so thanks for your input. you do win the award for 1st to complain. we just want a peaceful topic. so please leave it alone. thank you. ps...still be glad to have ya. whoever you are.

Good Grief-----Someone always gets their panties all wadded up.
Do you need a full squad-----or can I do it as a single?
What do people bring as a pot luck dish?

when the shoot is small, shooters can go out 1 per squad. but as it fills up, 4-5 is the norm. we have 2 sqauds now. Friday afternoon is wide open, if you wanted to shoot alone. food....we have a list of favorites. as people sign up, whats next in line that's needed is assigned. people with trailers cook in the trailers for the fresh food needs, to assist the club kitchen. keep in mind, this farm is literally 30 miles from a nearest town in any direction...so we don't ask people to bring ice cream. (lol.) those that choose to stay in town near the hwy exit, have the classic chain stores to grab stuff, like kfc, and walmart stuff. everyone is of the giving nature, so no one goes hungry. some like breakfast, some prefer lunch. some hold off and gouge themselves on steak and a full plate at the club 60 evening feast. so it varies.

Well then, if you have Rick Bin's permission, good luck on your shoot.

Indy. You are the kind of guy who thinks everyone needs your permission to do anything. Get over yourself. WE HAVE. Bobski probably included you in the invite. Up to him to still include you at this point. He invited me and doesn't know me. He gave me the ground rules and I'm a beginner at this type shoot. Sounds like he has nothing to gain and everybody works to make the shoot so no one has to donate a lot of dough. Don't attack someone I consider a friend. Rusty

rules are simple. sign up (so I wont travel 1700 miles on a bunch of empty promises and end up sitting at a range and nobody shows,) come have fun and go home a with new friends, on a full stomach. heck, its so laid back, whoever comes in last place, I shoot for them in proxy for the match trophy. not too many national organization champions willing to do that. imagine. 1st place can get waxed by an old gray hair retired champ, shooting a 65 year old pump, and last place goes home with the trophy. lol. so indy....come join us. lets see what ya got...or don't got. either way, you can win. ;>
