Reality is that people tend to judge on what they can see and feel.....
Problem is all those guys who shoot ALOT tend not to share the why something is important information with other people, they don’t have a problem telling people what is BS and doesn’t matter, but kind of fall short on how to measure what does matter in a store before you buy...
Form’d did a fair job with reticle characterizations of what’s good... I don’t remember seeing anything on Glass etched vs. Wire reticle... or how to check a scope for tracking and Zero at Cabelas or another box store, like you can clarity and knob features....
But that’s the rub, there really isn’t a way to inspect the scope without running it for a while to see how they perform.
I have yet to see a cut-away view of a scope in a store
The same thing is “kind of true” for rifles, people “see” fit and finish, but probably don’t know how to check how good of a chambering job was done - aka how the gun will run...
So in the end we all end up with “Tikka’s” are normally tack drivers type valuations.
