A stock maker I have known for a long time tells me that chips, rubs and other marks not into the wood on a WBY Deluxe can be touched up, undetectable, by spraying Varathane 66 into a small cup and using a fine artist brush to dip and paint the imperfections. Sounds too good to be true, but I've seen his work and it's flawless. Anyone know the ins and outs of this?

66 is wonderful and forgiving stuff to work with. It will not be perfect, but it can be mighty hard to find the repair... I prefer the can to the spray... If you can find it. Buy the smallest can as it will go bad before you need it again...

S.D.

I'm gonna go out and find some '66!!! If you say the stuff is worthwhile, why would I doubt it or ask someone else when I'm going to follow your advice anyway. Thanks for the lead.
