I was looking to set up a backup elk rifle almost identical to my 7STW. Found a Rem 700 with a 26" Lilja sporter chambered in 300H&H. Anyone running the 30Super for elk? I was thinking of running 180 accubonds. Would you leave the barrel at 26", or chop it to 22" or 24"?
Sounds like an excellent combonation, I didn't conect with an elk but I've shot a mule deer with the H&H and 180 NPT. I think you're okay, I wouldn't shorten the barrel. Just hunt it and enjoy.
