My choice would depend on where you hunt. Since I hunt mainly in the woods, At times in really tight cover, I need a good low end. I do like to use higher power for evaluating loads at the range and for seeing through the trees at moderate ranges. If I hunted the wide ooen spaces, one of the 6Xs would be just fine.
If price ever ceases to be a factor for me, an illuminated duplex VX-6 will end up on something. The 1-6 I looked at was really sweet.
