I had a 2002 FZ1 - badazz bike! I bought it from a guy in Port Charlotte, FL via cycle trader online. Flew over on a Sat am red eye flight, he picked me up at the airport (had my boots, jacket, gloves, helmet and pistol
) and was home around 9pm Sunday night abt 1100 miles later. Was a fun trip! Except for the rain all the way through MS and LA.
I had been riding a while, but nothing like that bike - when I hit 110 in 2nd gear (and only felt like about 75) on an entrance ramp, I gained a new found respect for any type of "sport" bike. I rode it for several years, but after a few too many close calls decided to call it quits while I was still ahead (like walking away from a hot table in Vegas, but you're eventually going to lose...).
