Since you are just starting, I wouldn't go the custom call route. A Lynch Foolproof box call, a decent slate, and a mouth call or two would be a good start. As you decide what you like, then do the custom. I use to use Preston Pittman mouth calls, but the quality doesn't seem to be the same. I started using Houndstooth Game Calls mouth calls last year.
