Correct. Takes a little maintenance. Don't get me wrong Bob I love my pre 64s but have had no functional problems with plungers. Actually more consistent ejection IME. I've got Mausers and M70s that will sometimes whip cases around nicking the stock near the bolt handle slot. Never had a plunger do that either.
For the record Sako uses plungers on the TRG sniper rifles which are used by militaries all over.
And I still don't see how a rifle action used in combat for decades is ill equipped for any hunting situation.
