That's another small ding against the Victory. I keep a snap cap or screw anchor in mine to prevent whoopsies. The plastic snap caps usually feed okay from the magazine.
VarmintGuy, I'd suggest a red dot with manual brightness control, at least as an option. My old auto-bright Fastfire gets too bright a lot when used outdoors. Indoors, it's perfect. Gonna replace it eventually. The fiber-optic front sights on both my new Smith .22s are also perfect; plenty bright, but with a clear square black top edge for bullseyes. Congrats on the snag.
