38.5 Varget produces excellent accuracy and probably 3300 FPS. 300 FPS difference will be very little in recoil, but can produce better accuracy sometimes than a reduced load. Plus slightly flatter and more energy.
That bullet is awesome on everything from turkeys to coyotes to deer. Never have recovered one bullet, and that includes a few double shoulder or quartering shots.
