Heed their advice, JM only for me too.
Just bought a 1990 1895SS with 22" barrel with intentions of cutting it shorter and after going back and forth and handling carbines along side of mine definitely leaving it as is. Much nicer handling IMO. And the newer Remlins I had my hands on were no where near as nice and smooth as my JM and it was unfired!
