Very happy with the vx1 3-9 I mounted on my son's m70 '06. Looking side by side with a new vx3i it appears that the low-e window I'm looking through combined with my less than perfect eyes has more effect than the difference between these 2 scopes. Add a few water stains on the lenses (my scopes seem to always have this when I hunt) and I don't think I could tell honestly.
