Conveying what frontline Nam combat vets have said who were not at Long Tan is not a pissing contest...its an equally
important part and personal perspective of the subject concerning the remembrance of all ANZACs and Aus Vietnam
combat involvement as a whole.

To put things into perspective;
Long Tan 18 killed 24 wounded
Australians killed in battle overall 414 wounded in battle 2348

The sacrifices of Long Tan have been made vivid in peoples minds which is a good thing ,but the other 400 battle dead are mostly
just treated like a statistic. Most Australians cannot name another Aus. battle outside of Long Tan.

For those interested , I spoke at length this morning with a US Marine Corp. US Navy flight surgeon that plied his profession at
Da Nang base hospital 68'-69' in the heavy period. Said he had worked with some Australians and still has the slouch hat given
him by one. He spent his R&R in Aus and lived in an Australian family home during that time and is still in close contact. His time
at the controls were behind the glass of the F4 and A6.
