Guys, this may sound stupid but in a 30/30 do you ever run a hard cast and or is it better to just run a standard bullet?

So far, only for small game like rabbits and grouse, but I got to think that at 100-150 yards a 180ish hard cast at say 2000 - 2200 fps ought to dump a deer pretty handy -- kinda like a 300 Savage.
