I admit the USDA subsidy system is a wasteful government boondoggle but I find it hard to criticize those who take advantage of it. I am surprised that you did not take the Covid payment so I will assume it wasn't offered to you.
The USDA subsidies are pushed by the machinery and ag chemical companies, and the big retailers like Walmart and Kroger push the food stamp program. They are the ones that end up with the money except for my payments. I stick mine in my pocket.
I know 2 or 3 people that work for cash and just quit filing taxes at all years ago and they didn't get a Covid check, but they wisely kept quiet about it.
