My 6.5-.284 is built on a Ruger #1 stainless action with an 8 twist Broughton barrel finished at 26". I don't remember the contour but it is a fairly heavy barrel similar to the Ruger varmint contour. I'm still doing load development but so far I have several loads that will shoot sub. 1" 5 shot groups at 200 yards with both Nosler 140 partitions and the Berger 140 VLD. I also tried the 125 Partition but my rifle much prefers the heavier bullets. My hunting buddy has a Savage 110 with a lighter contour Broughton 8 twist and his will shoot a bit better than mine on most days. I'm very happy with my barrel choice but I'm sure that there are a bunch of good ones out there. I think the person who barrels the gun has more effect on the accuracy than the barrel maker.

That's my story!
