The biggest thing I notice when shooting my MKII 338 on the bench is it jumps up off the front rest. I just make sure I have a good grip up front and squeeze it off. I doubt the MKII stock design is the greatest smile. A good soft recoil pad does wonders though.

I do wish I could water and fertilize mine, wake up the next day and it was a 700 XCR like yours smile Those are really nice rifles. You get what you pay for and I didn't pay much I suppose.
