Bought an unfired 26" .338-06 Shaw barrel off the board, threaded for a Winnie action and was going to have it lopped off and threaded further and chambered for .338 Fed for my .243.
Ended up having the threads cut off, shank turned down and it's going onto my Stevens 200 at 22" in .338-06 a really around about way of getting there, but I'll end up with the same money in it. Also having the action professionally bedded with marine tex.
