The whole key is finding exactly what YOUR gun likes. I have seen same model guns with one shooting nice tight groups to the other shooting "patterns".
I would try the Hornady SST, Winchester Partitions and Rem in that order. All in the 2 3/4. The 3" will knock your eyeteeth out.
I would also recommend you look at the 20 instead of the 12. Super flat, hard hitting, accurate and not a slobber knocker. Savage just came out with a 20 gauge built on their 110 action that is a hammer.
