I have dry fired all my ruger revolvers extensively and have never ever encountered a problem. I believe some .22lr rifles may have issues with extensive dry firing.

I wouldn't make it a practice to simply sit there and dry fire thousands of times, but to orient yourself with the trigger pull and practice some dry firing, I can't believe you would experience a problem with a Ruger revolver.
