whelennut Campfire Tracker W Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 6,698 Minnesota	The 45-70 is a hoot all right! It is fun to shoot at cement blocks and stuff like that. The light rifles with heavy loads are punishing. I would like a Ruger #1 with a heavy octagon barrel about 28" long if I ever bought another one. This is one cartridge that I might consider using a range finder for! whelennut I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.
