I don't mind learning and totally agree that a 223 is a great round for bench rest shooting and practice but its not ideal for hunting deer on wheat fields. I said I wanted something for hunting the wheat fields. If I wanted to go small I would just use my 22-250!
The 22-250 can't begin to hang with a 223,due to twist rates and BC.
