Hey me again i talked to a buddy of mine whos daughter was hunting with us last year and she also killed an elk with her 243 1 shot as did his wife a 5 point bull both were taken between 200 and 250 yards with federal fusion ammo 95 grain if she will be shooting factory loads alot of people swear by fusion and there inexpensive as well she also killed a muture mule deer buck last year with same round at 400 yards one shot complete penetration through rib cage logged in skin on opposite side so i think her ability to shoot will dictate distance also my 6mm rem likes 44 gr.4350 with 100 gr partitions have taken many deer and 1 elk with that old gun.
