I would probably also rather have had the longer barrel version myself - but beggars can't be chosers.
I have several types of CCI 22 L.R. ammunition but nothing subsonic.

It has about a 14 or 16 inch barrel on it. I have only seen it once and forget the particulars on it (price and barrel length).
