Personally,much as I love the 7/08,I'll take a 280 Remington (which will do more with a 22" barrel than a 7/08 does with a 26") any day of the week and end the conversations about velocity..... But that's just me.
I am not so sure Bobin, me thinks you and I would just as soon run a 270 in a long action LOL.
65: I have had the 280's and found it so similar to a 270 that I couldn't justify having both....
I would be very happy with a 280 on a standard action.Great cartridge and another favorite I don't need ...LOL!
