Issue with the Viper is the unknown. Leupolds have been getting beaten up on slugguns way longer than Vortex has even been in business.

As for the reticle I don't think any of the shotgun scopes havea thicker reticle for strength. It was more due to the traditional use of the shotgun. In the past nearly all sluggun hunters were driving deer and taking quick close shots in heavy cover for which a thicker reticle makes sense.

Pick whatever reticle you like just go with a scope with a proven track record. For me,of your choices,that would be a leupold.
