For the 24" octagon barreled version like I got, I'm guessing about $450, give or take. The more basic carbines, probably less.

Depending on your goals and standards, the Rossis can benefit greatly by some tweaking. I did extensive work on mine, using Steve Gunn's kit and DVD, and fire lapping the bore. It's one of my favorite shooters.

If you're happy if it goes "bang" reliably, and kills stuff at normal lever rifle distances, you might not want to bother with the tweaks. The typical issues you encounter with a lever action, especially in pistol calibers, pertain to feeding and ejection, but they are fixable.
