Fully agree with you. I recently handled an M12. Push feed, poorly inletted, detachable box, did not have the look or feel of a quality rifle. Clearly built to a price point. Doesn't come close to a Winchester Model 70, which sells for a lot less.

If FN can build an M70 with an excellent CRF action for under a grand, somebody should be able to build an M98 clone for under three grand.
