I'd go with the Leupold VX-2 2x7x33. Having had a couple FW anything more make the rifle unbalanced for me.

If you want something more the VX-3 2.5-8x36 is only slightly larger. Another option would be the VX-3 1.75-6x32. Both are about $50 out of your price range though.
