If you're a "woody" type and want a 7 lb. rifle the Cooper Model 22 in the Classic or one of the other stock styles ought to fill the bill. For the price IMHO no other production rifle offers the value that a pre-enjoyed Cooper does in regard to qualiity of the wood, fit, finish, trigger excellence and accuracy. I've owned a bunch of em' and had 'nary a stinker. No "roulette" there.
