It should work fairly well. 2400 has a good reputation in the .44 magnum.

I feed my .44 rifle the same loads I do my revolvers, with the exception of the Beartooth "Long cylinder" bullets meant to exploit the room a SuperBlackhawk, Redhawk, and SuperRedhawk have in their cylinders.

My rifle is a 77/44, and the magazine strictly limits it to 1.610". I can get away with 1.725" in my SuperBlackhawk, and 1.775" in my Redhawk.
