Dog are predators just like humans are , if you run from them, then they only see you as prey , stand your ground and then they have second thoughts unless they sense the fear in you. Carry a knife if you can't carry a pistol, no better weapon at FACE TO FACE Combat with animal or human.
Excellent idea! I'll start carrying a knife in case I run out of ammo. One of the places I run has trails trough the woods and I run into a lot of women that are walking 2 or more big dogs. They are on leashes but they have a hard time controlling them and especially if I am running towards them. The dogs see me as a threat and get all excited. Many times the women have had to drag them of the trail into the woods until I pass even if I stop running until I pass them.
