I have used several brands over the years. If I wanted something that I knew would work, every time, Warn would be it, hands down. If I couldnt afford a Warn, I would just go to Harbor Freight. Their winches work pretty damn well, and if not, they will take care of it. All of the Chinese winches are about the same, might as well get a cheap one.
I would still try to get a Warn. Peruse the 4x4 boards and Craigslist for a used one. New, the M8000s are pretty good winches, and arent priced terribly.
