Nothing sent chills up my back more than the sound of an E-6B on final and the engine see-sawing up and down the decible scale as the pilot jockied the throttle. Only the B-52 carried a larger payload of bombs than the E-6B. Glad to see the Corps is keeping the EA6B. That electronic warfare capability is essential on today's modern battle field.
That's not true. The B-1B and B-2 carry a lot more. The F-111 did as well, up until it's retirement.
The EA-6b also never, or perhaps I should say almost never, carried it's full payload capability, since it generally had ECM pods using some of those hardpoints.
