That's not true. The B-1B and B-2 carry a lot more. The F-111 did as well, up until it's retirement.

The EA-6b also never, or perhaps I should say almost never, carried it's full payload capability, since it generally had ECM pods using some of those hardpoints.


As for the A6A's bomb payload (ie. 36 500 pounders), my reference point was pre-B1B era (1986.) The F-111 is around 60% of the A6's bomb payload.
