Can you tell any difference in how it shoots between the two guide rods?
Are you expecting a difference in shooting?
I've made the change on almost every 1911 that I've ever owned if I plan to shoot it much (and have to clean it).
Ease of disassembly is the reason for the change; has nothing to do with how it shoots & I've never seen even a smidgen of difference.
