Are you expecting a difference in shooting?

I've made the change on almost every 1911 that I've ever owned if I plan to shoot it much (and have to clean it).

Ease of disassembly is the reason for the change; has nothing to do with how it shoots & I've never seen even a smidgen of difference. smile

Exactly this. Swap out had nothing to do with shooting, and everything to do with not needing to have an allen wrench to break it down and field strip it.

It shoots no better and no worse, either way.

I feel the same, just have to ask when I see a swap out. I've stuck with the original GI for 40 years. Don't care for the one piece at all...
