IF it is a classic ( CRF) then it was made in the mid-late 90's.
I have a few 5 digit Classics (Gxxxxx). Yours would be considered a 6 digit Classic.
When winchester started making the "Classic" Model 70 they restarted the serial numbers at G15000 I believe. The Classic was brought out in 1994.
Where are you getting the information that they started with serial number G15000? I have one that is G10### and another that is a G15###.
I have several more 5 digit Classics but just not that low.
