Good job Wyo.. Nice rifles. I love those 50 gr 'Maxes.... I need to try some of the Z's, they're a dang good deal. Dad and I have been shooting some 40 gr BT's lately out of his .222's, they're like little laser beams. If I could only choose one bullet for all .224's, it would be the 50gr. V/Z-Max. But the 40's definitely have more pop when you get them screaming. Tell Downstream I have decided I do love my 222 Rem Mag. I'm going to use it on dogs this season. Travis

This is the only way to shoot fast twist. Shoot the twist in your rifle with a fast bullet...

Torque from a fast twist barrel can create an unusual phenomenon to the shooter similar to shell shock and does contribute to a loss of stability in reasoning....

Clark, on my travels, I picked up some CCI Quite .22 lr with a segmented hp.. They are 710 fps. I believe the had a faster load, but these were great for town pests.. The only time I ever saw these loads, and don't remember where I got 'em..

mtcurman, in the years before I retire, bought up a bunch of 50's in Vmax and Blitzking.. They are as Travis says UBER.. I think the Zombies are just a green tipped Vmax.. Got a box of 500 40 gr.Zombies on sale this spring.. Haven't used them yet, but they should be just great.. Those little .222's are a great round..

The only time I ever saw these loads, and don't remember where I got 'em.. I see the CCI 970 http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/detail.aspx?use=1&loadNo=0970I have 5 or 10 boxes of CCI 960 that are too loud http://www.cci-ammunition.com/products/detail.aspx?use=1&loadNo=960I can't go more than 1/2 gr powder with a 24" barrel and keep the escapement gas subsonic. I chambered a 6mmRem today for hunting Oct. I don't know if I am can build another really long barrelled 22 in 2015, but I will in 2016. I lost a big rat to wimpy ammo yesterday and a crow only gave up a feather this morning. But i got a small rat a few minutes ago.

Clark, that is the number on this box.. I haven't shot it yet, but it is a segmented HP at 710 fps.
For a long barreled .22 that CZ in the gopher photo has a very long tube.. I would guess a min. of 26".. Very accurate..

Here is 22 I extended. But it is not accurate enough. I need to build a stiffer long 22. Then I can shoot 22 short hollow points and sound like a BB gun. Here is a 50 cal wildcat 50CB I built. Here I turned the breeches of spare 12 gauge barrels into Remchokes and screwed them in series. Here is the M107. My father sold his design to Detroit Arsenal.

Seem to be a lot of wabbits around your camp too Don.. Yesterday there was one right alongside the house, so Nash grabbed up a "spear" and went sneaking over to it and right he got set to throw he saw Mom looking at the cute little bunny through the window.. He sort of acted like he was just stretching and came muttering under his breath back over to the shop. Time to break out the CB's and the Gamo..
