We ended up with a half dozen or so of these small bass. Looks like the Spring run has fizzled out with bigger fish migrating up the line to the L-Man's stomping grounds. Time to switch to Fluke and Sea Bass fishing.

I think you've got it right, buddy. Big slug of schools of 30+ pounders in now, but bigger news has taken away from them: the tuna are in. 21 giants taken in one day on the bank mid-week. Let the games begin. eek whistle

Seabass are so fun to catch. Drop jigs on their heads, bang 'em up. If you miss a hookest, no big deal. Those greedy little buggers will often hit again and again until you the steel bites them. You able to get in on a few, or still no playing yet for you?

That's a very nice fluke, brother. Nice going!

Drifting jigs with squid strips? The old salts in these parts often use belly strips of the first keeper to bait the jigs with for the rest of the day. Sounds crazy, but it works. Really. wink

I agree! That #2 shot of yours is just fantastic, efw. Looks like caverns and/or caves in limestone of something similar, maybe? How beautiful! Any details of the place?

Yeah we vacationed in Hocking County, Ohio this year. No where near as "exotic" (to us anyway) as your area was last summer, but an amazingly scenic area with more sights to see than we could hope to in 5 days!

There are waterfalls, caverns, canyons, and just all around gorgeous scenery! We stayed in a lovely cottage right in the heart of the area. It was wonderfully refreshing!

Thanks again for the thread this is kewl!
