Looking to use a 270 gr bullet either a Swift A-Frame,North Fork or a 260 gr Nosler Partition. Going to shoot it first, then see if it needs bedding or free-floating. In all honesty, how much accuracy does one need for the game a .375 H&H is used on. ; Had one of these about 18-20 years ago and traded it off, regretted doing that ever since. I WILL leave it as is. As far as plans for it,depending on what happens,MAYBE Africa. To answer your question: I want all the damn accuracy I can get out of a 375 H&H, especially if I'm hunting "dangerous" game. That's probably just me though.. Also as far as bedding your rifle. It's kind of a must with those classics, especially heavy kickers. You got to remember the hot glue bedding of the day wasn't always the best: It's your rifle though my friend and I'm not trying to criticize, just hoping to help a little.. I know you're trying to help and it is appreciated, the thing is,I don't think this rifle has been fired at all. There are no "signs" on the bolt face or muzzle. When I get back from town later this morning,I'll take it out of the stock and look at the bedding. For me,as long as it shoots 1-1/2" or less it'll be good.

As long as you get "CONSISTENT" accuracy out of it, you'll be doing great at 1 1/2" groups. Very nice rifle there and I hope it's a great shooter for you.. Have fun with it today...

Many years ago my LGS got in a bunch of Classic Stainless .375 H&H and .416 Rem. that had astounding wood. Prices were the same as for nice, but "normal" wood. Looking back, I should have bought several of them.

Southwind, that's actually a steal at that price when you consider the cost of components. I might just have to use my cabela's gift card I got for Christmas!!! . Although, I probably have enough components to choke a horse right now . I might just say fu ck it and drive to Cabela's today.... Remington 375 H&H 300gr. swift A-frames I know, I had to buy a couple of boxes. Too good a deal to pass

I don't know, tried to get the stock off and it didn't budge. So,instead of prying the barreled action out,I just put it back together. I'm a chicken schit.

Beautiful rifle EdM. You have some real humdingers. Any of you newbies or oldies want to post up some of your new or old Winchester model 70's. Feel free. I don't know if I posted my 375 H&H here after I threw it in the coyote bomber swirly Mcmillan, so here it is. I glass bedded it and it's shooting excellent. Absolutely no regrets with this big sledge hammer: Post up some more pics of your beautiful rifles.. Thanks!!

Thanks buddy. I much prefer it on the 375 than when it was on the 30-06 fwt. It actually made the fwt weigh more than factory and balance was not good. It actually balances very well with this heavy barreled 375. I'm glad I didn't get rid of it since it has worked out very nicely. I'm hoping you'll get your 338 from Gene Simillion soon and post some pics. I know I keep saying this and it may seem I'm more impatient than you on this, but damn.... . That's going to be one bad azzed 338!!!!

I heard, on the internet, that the market for these old Winchesters was about to dry up.
