Our Fallon NV WallyWorld sporting goods manager is still high-grading them to his buddies. They show up at the local gun shows for $65.00/brick of Rem Thunderbolts.

Actually, saw something of that nature happen at BassPro Saturday. I wasn't amused.

I was at Bass Pro Friday and asked and the guy laughed at me. My local shop always has some.

I always take a look in the ammo case at our local farm store when I'm there. For the first time in years I saw 3 bricks in there about a week ago, price tag was $59.95. Needed something from there a couple days later and they were gone.

As long as someone is willing to pay that kind of price they will not be dropping any time soon.

And there are no lines any more like there used to be.

The gun show vendors are selling that for 35-40 bucks. People are apparently still dumb enough to buy it up.

$5.97/hundred. First time I've seen that sign down in two years.

The same stuff was $8.97 at Wally World in Wenatchee, WA last Thursday. I got the last two boxes on their shelf.

It's getting more expensive to keep the grandkids shooting these days. laugh

News like this will be worth reporting when the shelves are fully stocked and kept fully stocked.. Not here today, gone tomorrow.

Still seen none in my AO.

Sport's Dicking Goods had an ad in the Sunday paper for 325 boxes of Federal for 19.99. Stopped in today (Tuesday), and they actually still had some available.

If some unknown entity wanted to disable the tool most commonly used to teach children to shoot, they would do well to eliminate the 22 LR ammunition supply.

Just saying.

A new Cabelas opened here this weekend. I wandered into a Gander Mountain on Saturday and found more .22LR than I'd ever seen in one place in a number of years.

Chest-high shelves, 4-5 feet wide. Remington, Federal and CCI. Not only was every shelf full at the front, but they were full all the way back. Prices ran from about $.07 to $.10 a round. No limit.

The store was almost empty of customers.

So why are there these stacks of .22s sitting around all of a sudden? Even when all shipments were being swept up by speculators the minute they hit the floor, there weren't stacks to be swept up.

It's been my routine to check Walmart periodically for it, and it's literally been since Sandy Hook that I've seen a single box on the rim fire shelf there. Plenty of .17, just not .22. Was just there Saturday, in fact. Picked up 500 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds of .380 ACP. Those have recovered nicely since Sandy Hook, but not .22 Long Rifle.

I remember when gas was 46 cents per gallon and you could mail a letter for a dime.

That has nothing to do with today.

i was in cabella's yesterday, and they had four or five kinds of .22lr on the shelves.
about 5bucks a box or so, the eley was 20bucks a box.
those federal value backs were 23bucks for 325rounds.
I should have bought it all i guess. And i was complaining when 22magnum was five bucks a box.
