To you Southern Gentlemen I have a question on proper dress. I have three new pair of Texas Jeans. While ironing a shirt this morning was struck with a thought. I know I can wear Wranglers without ironing them but is it a sin to wear Texas brand jeans without pressing them first? I don't reckon I've ever uttered the word "jeans" in my life. I used to wear Levis, 'til the management turned queer, then I switched to Wranglers. Both of them are referred to as "britches". And I keep a couple pair of new britches in the closet for town wear... medium starched and ironed from the laundry/dry cleaners in the County Seat. Who sells "Texas Jeans"? Never heard of 'em. Are you ready for this? Texas jeans are made and sold by... The Texas Jean Co. I posted a link above. Yea, The Texas Jean company of North Carolina. Yep, started in Texas thenn moved to a bigger place in sc. Still good jeans at a great price.

My wife puts them on pant stretchers. Do they still make those things? I haven't seen any in 40 years.

Kirkland jeans for winter wear and Wrangler jeans with Cordura fronts for rabbit hunting works for me. The last Kirklands' I bought were a lighter weight denim than earlier ones so I'm questioning that.

I guess I never really considered that you COULD iron jeans. Can't see why you wouldn't though, if you wanted them to look kinda dressed up. I found pants at Costco, kinda like cargo pants, you can get them in insulated versions too. About $20 a pair(so probably half that in your country) and they really comfortable. I haven't worn jeans since.

I quit wearing them years ago when they stopped making them in the good old USA. Geno What's an iron and why would anyone want to wear underwear that had been pressed?

Only ironing done around here is steaming dents on walnut stocks. Iron jeans? WTF for?

For the education of all you Yankees there are parts of the South where pressed jeans are considered show a show of being a gentleman. Parts of Texas and Lausiana. The post was in jest. My time in the Navy as a LPO stuck with me and I do like a dream ironed shirt. Ironed pants no longer count.

A visit to the Houston Rodea and Livestock Show and one will see loads of ironed jeans. Always thought it kind of silly.

Finley someone knows what I am talking about. Yes, it does seem silly to some of us, maybe most of us but what fashion isn't silly in some ways. The three piece Wall Street look is a lot sillier in my book. I have not pressed pants of any kind since I took off the Navy uniform.

Pressing the jeans was an attempt to raise them out of the lower class. My first duty station in the AF forbade the wearing of jeans on base.

Didn't know they made jeans other than Levi's or Wrangler.
